In the Shop:
THREE GENERATIONS UNDER THE HOOD
At a small transmission shop in Bayonne, New Jersey, three generations of one family have spent their lives under the hood. What began with the grandfather’s hands and hard-earned skill was passed to his son, and now lives on through two brothers who grew up in the garage, learning by watching, listening, and doing. The shop is more than a workplace—it’s a classroom, a legacy, and a way of life. Grease-stained floors, worn tools, and rebuilt engines tell the story of dignity in manual labor, where craftsmanship is inherited, not taught, and where being “under the hood” is both work and identity.
